About the Position
Reporting to the General Manager and the Executive Director, the Head Guide is responsible for
overseeing the daily operation of the Morrin Centre’s guided tours and gift shop while ensuring
an outstanding visitor experience.
The successful candidate will supervise the guide team, coordinate schedules and training,
personally lead public and private guided tours, and work closely with the Business
Development & Sales Coordinator to ensure the successful delivery of all confirmed group
bookings.


Responsibilities
● Lead public and private guided tours in both English and French;
● Coordinate daily guided tour operations;
● Recruit, train, schedule and supervise the guide team;
● Coach staff and conduct performance evaluations;
● Ensure exceptional customer service and visitor satisfaction;
● Welcome visitors and respond to operational issues;
● Oversee the daily operation of the gift shop;
● Manage inventory, merchandising and sales reporting;
● Research and develop new gift shop products that reflect the Morrin Centre’s mission
and enhance the visitor experience;
● Coordinate staffing requirements for tours and group bookings;
● Collaborate with the Business Development & Sales Coordinator to ensure the
successful delivery of all confirmed tours;
● Maintain tour statistics and operational reports;
● Assist with daily operational planning and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications
● Postsecondary education in Tourism, History, Museum Studies, Heritage Interpretation,
Business Administration or a related field;
● Excellent written and spoken French and English;
● Experience supervising staff or volunteers;
● Experience in tourism, museums, hospitality or visitor services is considered an asset.
