A Victorian-inspired teatime experience.

This 90-minutes-long immersive and interactive experience will provide you with an introduction to tea history and etiquette, teach you some traditional Victorian games and activities, and (of course) allow you to taste a number of teas as well as sweet and savory snacks.

Tickets must be purchased by end of day the Wednesday before the event. In the event that the minimum number of registrations (8) is not reached by the Wednesday prior to the event, the activity will be canceled and all tickets refunded. The maximum number of registration is 20. Please note that Teatime tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable.

On Friday, August 14, and Saturday, August 15, join us on the Chaussée des Écossais for two days of concerts and activities! In case of rain, the festival will take place indoors, in the Morrin Centre ballroom.

The Arts Alive Festival is back for its twelfth year in 2026! The whole family can join the celebration with concerts, contests, performances, and more. All outdoor activities are free and require no registration.

Drifting in the Cities will be displayed in the Morrin Centre ballroom from August 12 to 19.
The exhibition will be accessible for free every day between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., with no registration necessary.

With its theme of figures in eco-responsible mobility moving through cities fragmented into parks, squares, and promenades, the imagery of Drifting in the Cities suggests a new paradigm for cities. This solo exhibition by Quebec contemporary artist Tanya Morand reveals the contrasts between urban density and the openness of public spaces and parks. Highly personal, her paintings and silkscreen prints are inspired by collages of photographs taken during her rambles through various cities, including Quebec City, Sherbrooke, Lisbon, Madrid, Istanbul, and Salamanca.

Friday Concert

On the evening of Friday, August 14, from 7:30 to 9 p.m., Meika and her band will present their show Tide of Love!

Meika grew up in Toronto with her colourful Jamaican family; that’s where her musical career began. Now living in Quebec City, the dynamic and passionate singer-songwriter and performing artist draws inspiration from Soul, Reggae, and Jazz to create a rich, uplifting musical world that brings people together. Meika’s warm voice and inviting stage presence makes each performance unforgettable.

Saturday Concert

On the evening of Saturday, August 15, from 7:30 to 9 p.m., discover a concert by Sarah Vanderzon!

With the arrival of Sarah Vanderzon’s new EP, Fortune Teller and her riveting first single “Are You With Me?,” the world is being introduced to a fresh, insightful and enjoyable new voice in the annals of Americana, folk and country.

Produced by Jordan Honsinger (Patrick James Clark, Morgan Griffiths) at his Nashville home studio and mixed by Jordan Oorebeek (Kalsey Kulyk, Sully Burrows), the Fortune Teller album by Sarah Vanderzon, native of rural Montreal and winner of the Emerging Artists Showcase at 2024’s Boots and Hearts Music Festival, weaves through six heartfelt narratives about love, attraction, loyalty and heartbreak: all delivered with potent melodies that underscore her universally relatable lyrics.

Mural in Tribute to Afro-Quebecers

Join us in the Karim-Ouellet Park and discover with Webster the themes of identity, memory, and culture represented in the Lucien-Borne Community Center mural!

On the rear facade of the Lucien-Borne Community Center in Quebec City, the mural in tribute to the Afro-Quebecers who lived here from 1629 to 2021—from Olivier Le Jeune to Karim Ouellet—anchors their memory and their contribution to Quebec City in the urban space. Using the wall as a canvas, this work dialogues with the urban environment while exploring themes of identity, memory, and culture.

During this exceptional presentation, Webster will recount his experience on this artistic project, which was developed under his leadership and in collaboration with several artists.

The meeting point is in front of the mural in Parc Karim-Ouellet, next to the Lucien-Borne Community Center (100 Ch Ste-Foy, Quebec, QC G1R 1T1).

In case of bad weather, the presentation will be held in the Lucien-Borne community center (details will be sent to all registered participants).

Aly Ndiaye, aka Webster, was born and raised in the Limoilou district of Quebec City. With a Senegalese father and a Quebecois mother, he has always been proud of his origins and presents himself as a purebred metis SénéQueb. His passion for history led him to pursue university studies in this field. An activist, Webster is very involved socially. He regularly gives conferences on a multitude of subjects, including the one he has a predilection for: the history of the Afro-descendant presence and slavery in Quebec and Canada since the time of New France.

Webster is the author of a hip-hop writing manual, À l’Ombre des Feuilles (Québec Amérique, 2019), two children’s books, Le Grain de Sable (Septentrion, 2019) and Charlotte et la fin de l’esclavage auQuébec (Septentrion, 2025), and is the French translator of the book Contrat racial by Charles W. Mills (Mémoire d’encrier, 2023).

Since 2023, he has represented the Quebec province on the Historic Sites and Monuments Board of Canada.

Have No Fear: Zine-Making and Author Talk with Joana Mosi (Portugal)

Join award-winning comics creator and educator Joana Mosi for an evening of zine-making and a meet and greet with the author.

Joana is based in Lisbon, Portugal, and her graphic novels The Mongoose and Physical Education are published by Pow Pow (Montréal) in both English and French. Don’t miss this rare chance to meet, learn from, and be inspired by one of the one of the most important emerging talents in the European comics scene!

During this workshop, the participants will be challenged to write, draw, and build their own one-sheet-zine, with or without prior experience. The purpose is to have fun and have no fear to explore new ideas on the paper and beyond.

Meet Joana Mosi and learn more about her work during this conversation with fellow cartoonist Magnus Merklin. Copies of Joana’s books, in both English and French, will be available to purchase and get signed.

Joana Mosi is an award-winning visual artist and cartoonist based in Lisbon, Portugal. Born and raised close to the sea, Joana has a really hard time sitting still in one place for a long time (which is a problem when your job requires you to spend lots of time at a drawing table) so she ends up traveling a lot, participating in art residencies and comics festivals across the globe. While she’s planning her next artistic endeavour, she stays fresh by teaching (and learning from) new generations of creators. Her book The Mongoose won the Jorge Magalhães Award for Outstanding Story in 2024, and Physical Education was the first-ever graphic novel to be a National Illustration Award of Portugal Highlight Book.

Extra-Muros—The Morrin Centre Out and About

From February to June 2026, the Morrin Centre is “Out and About” with the Extra-Muros project! The Morrin Centre team offers a selection of cultural, living, and built heritage related activities to a wide audience in different neighbourhoods of the greater Quebec City region.

This project is made possible thanks to the Entente de développement culturel between the Governement of Québec and the Ville de Québec.

Creation of teabag-shaped bookmarked and tea tasting accompanied by a presentation on the history of tea, as well as a few Victorian games.

Family and little ones are welcome to our weekly storytime in the beautiful Morrin Centre Library every Saturday 10:30 to 11:30!

Storytime is a free literacy program for children ages 3 to 7. Each activity begins with the reading of a story followed by a craft inspired by its themes. Our objective is to foster children’s love of reading by providing fun, interactive activities that will encourage them to continue reading after each session.

All sessions are in English and take place in the Library every Saturday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m!

Registration is required to participate, but participation in every Storytime sessions is not required.
