Moving to another city, country, or even culture can be exciting and challenging both at the same time! Two social workers from the Jeffery Hale Community Services will walk us through the stages of change as well as advise us what the different coping mechanisms are. Participants will also have the chance to connect with others and broaden their networks.
You will also learn about resources and tools that can help you adapt, such as:
Language Courses
Employment counselling
Vocational training
Social networks
VEQ’s Finding Your Niche for Newcomers’ sessions
Other support organizations
Individually wrapped snacks and drinks will be provided. Also, a participation prize will be raffled among the participants.
Click here to register. We like to know how many we are expecting so we can better coordinate (room, snacks, activities, etc.). However, walk-ins are welcome!
