Storytime is a literacy program for children ages 3 to 7. Each activity begins with the reading of a story followed by a craft inspired by its themes. Become a thespian for a day as the Lifelong Learning room transforms into the Globe Theatre with a reading of William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Each week, participants will choose a character at random to read aloud while our facilitator, Meb Reisner, discusses the play. Join us for all four sessions and receive a door prize at the end!
A Midsummer Night’s Dream is celebrated for its light-hearted and fantastical nature. It is often categorized as Shakespeare’s best-loved comedies, showcasing as it does his mastery in blending humor, romance, and enchantment. The play’s exploration of the complexities of love and its use of magical elements contribute to its enduring popularity.
