Due to COVID-19 and the most recent government measures that will be in place, it is yet to be decided if the meetings will take place online or in person, or both. The decision will be taken one month prior to the meetings.

Caring for a loved one can lead to a fair amount of stress. Join other caregivers for an outdoor yoga session in the park with Susa Bernard who will show caregivers ways to use yoga techniques to relieve stress. As member of the Canadian Yoga Alliance, Susa has been practicing yoga for seven years, and teaching it for the last two years.
All you need is a yoga mat, stretchy clothes and a bottle of water. Register today to receive all the details you will need to participate.

Join psycho-educator Julie Fraser and others for this new workshop designed to cover many of the questions and worries you might have about this milestone time in a young person’s life. Julie has much knowledge to share thanks to her career as a pyscho-educator in a primary school, and from the first-hand experience she gained when her own children transitioned to high school.

Caring for an aging loved one can be challenging. Sometimes what you need most is a safe place to process everything that is happening in your life. The Wellness Centre, co-managed by Jeffery Hale Community Partners, is offering caregivers an opportunity to participate in free art therapy sessions.
Caregivers are invited to learn more about Art Therapy with certified art therapist, Sophie Lessard-Latendresse. No artistic talent is needed. These sessions are- intended to help you explore your feelings while enjoying the life affirming pleasures of creating art. Treat yourself to some ME time!

Stroke, despite it’s occurrence being in decline, remains a leading cause of death and disability. Risk of
stroke is age-related, but there are modifiable risk factors. Counseling on lifestyle changes has
positive effects on reducing stroke recurrence and understanding the signs and symptoms of stroke
allows for earlier and more effective treatment.
Objectives
1. Recognize signs and symptoms of stroke
2. Learn about the modifiable risk factors for stroke
3. Understand available treatments and medications used in stroke management
About Your Presenter
José A. Morais is Professor of Medicine at McGill University. He is a senior scientist at the Research
Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) in the Metabolic Disorders and
Complications axis.

Dads! We’ve arranged a friendly game of soccer for you and your kids. Join WE Dads Community Animator, Jarryd Smith and other dads and their children for a morning of fun. There are some small soccer pitches and goals at Parc Victoria, so it’s a great size for a friendly match.
We’ll include your children in the game, but if they lose interest, there is a playground right next to the soccer pitches. All ages and skill levels welcome!

Eager to go for a hike to one of the most beautiful parks in the area? We are providing transportation to the Jacques-Cartier National Park, so if you recently* moved to the Greater Québec City region and would like to explore this place while making new friends, you only need to sign up!
If you are coming by car to the departing point (1270, chemin Sainte-Foy) you can park your vehicle for free in the parking lot behind the Jeffery Hale Pavilion. I will give you a parking ticket that will waive the fees. We will leave at 10:45 AM, so please plan accordingly. The bus will take us to the Discovery & Services Centre, situated on km 10 from the park’s entrance. The tour is scheduled to begin at 12:00 PM. The interpretive tour will take two hours to be completed. Upon return to the Discovery Centre, participants can take some time to explore a bit more the picnic area, and the souvenir shop or simply relax while feeling the cool breeze of the Jacques-Cartier river. We will head back to Québec City at 3:15 PM.
A naturalist guide will take us on a two-hour hike through the Les Cascades trail. It is categorized as an easy trail, perfect for beginners, a leisure walk, families, or sightseers, with a length of only 4 km.
VEQ will provide FREE transportation to all participants, as well as will cover the fee for the SÉPAQ naturalist. The interpretive hike will be in English (the naturalist guide is bilingual though). Each participant MUST obtain the ticket on Eventbrite. It is $9.25 per adult and free for minors (17-year-old and under). If you already have a valid annual pass to the SÉPAQ (Québec’s provincial parks), then please get your ticket using the child’s admission option.
What to bring:
Comfortable shoes and clothes, water, snacks, a change of clothes in case it rains, your smile!

Saint Brigid’s Home, founded in 1856, is a publicly-funded long-term care residence for senior citizens who can no longer live at home. This centre has a special mandate from the provincial government to provide long-term care services in English. Come see for yourself how St B’s offers individualized care provided by a multidisciplinary team of caring health professionals in a secure family-like atmosphere.
Participants will meet at 10 AM in the Kildare Lounge. Light refreshments will be served following the tour.

VEQ’s “Out & About’ invites 50 year-old+ers from the English-speaking community to hop on a bus and go to the Maison Hamel-Bruneau for their outdoor concert series (“Souvenirs de Paris “ Katee Julien (quatuor) from noon to 1:00 pm – FREE ADMISSION; it will be followed by lunch at Phil’s Fish-n-Chips after the concert.
Bring your appetite! For the concert, you may bring a foldable camping chair if you have one — though Maison Hamel-Bruneau will provide us with regular outdoor/plastic chairs

Out & About invites you to come blueberry picking and picnicking with us in St. Nicolas (Bleutières des Alouettes). After the picnic, we will head out to the Bleutière Vire Crêpes for coffee and (blueberry!) ice-cream – 10:45 am to 1:45 pm/2:00 pm.
Let curiosity lead your way! This off-trail guided activity takes you on a one-hour impressive path, surrounded by ancient boulders, rocks, and minerals, all while learning about them.

Adult participants are warned that this activity will be conducted in tight, closed, and sometimes dark spaces (squeezing between boulders for example). Out & About invites you to hop on a bus, visit and shop at the Grand Marché du Québec. Come have an ice cream! Come discover the local gourmet and food stores and enjoy the shaded picnic area if you choose to have a late lunch!
Voice of English-speaking Québec invites people over 50 living in the Northern Perimeter to hop on the bus as we go to the Island of Orleans with the Centre d’amitié autochtone de Québec.
Bring your wallets and shopping bags: lunch, fresh produce, a bakery visit, cheese shop visit, possible u pick fruits, and a visit to a cultural centre are all in store.
Times for pick up and drop off TBD.

The days of pulling the wool over customers’ eyes are over! Sales and selling techniques have changed to become more human-centered than ever before. By learning about these changes, one cannot only have a more enjoyable time selling but also effectively close more deals. This Modern Selling Workshop aims to outline strategies and explain frameworks to inspire prospecting, confidence, and sales activities. Topics covered in this workshop include defining modern selling, qualifying leads, creating winning solutions, and understanding the sales cycle. By the end, you will have created a modern selling action plan to take with you to your next client meeting. Come hop on ANOTHER bus to take the fun and enjoyable ride, on the top deck of the Old Quebec Buses for the guided tour around Old Québec, the Plains of Abraham and the Petit Champlain. Followed by lunch at local restaurant or bring your picnic!
