Join other English-speaking caregivers and  discover how to de-stress using simple yoga stretches guided by Sule Tomkinson,  a hatha yoga teacher and a political scientist. Sule’s compassionate approach to yoga and life encourage self-inquiry.  Her classes are creative, energetic and accessible.

Wear comfortable clothing, bring your water bottle and enjoy some relaxation exercises. We will provide the mats and ambience! Train your body to breathe and your mind to stop racing.

Enter via the hospital front door, we will gather in the lounge by the Café Jeff and then proceed at  10 AM to the JEFF’s lovely outdoor garden, weather permitting. In case of rain the activity wil take place in  the Coin soleil, on the second floor of the hospital. (1250 chemin Ste-Foy, Quebec, Qc G1S 2M4). Light refreshments will be served.

This activity is free and so is parking in the hospital parking lot. Participants are asked to call 418 684-5333, Ext 1539 to register.

Nearly one in four adult Canadians report some hearing loss. In older adults, hearing loss often happens gradually over time. This loss can easily go undetected. It may interfere with communication and often leaves seniors feeling quite isolated and misunderstood. It can become a common source of frustration for caregivers. However, support is available. Open to those who missed this event last year and to those who wish to refresh their work from last year. This is part 1 of the Art of Storytelling series offered during the spring of 2020. Part 2 will be coming up later in the month.

Storytelling is something we do naturally and have done so since the dawn of time (so easy a Caveman could do it). This interactive activity we will teach you to harness your creativity and develop better stories to tell. Whether they are your everyday stories to a fantasy world you tell your grandkids. Learn from the experts at Disney’s Pixar on how to develop our own unique stories while listening to what inspires them to develop such beautiful films.

We can’t travel in real life but we can celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in Ireland with “Great Tours” lecture series from Great Courses Plus. This is part 2 of 2 lessons. Attending both lectures is not required.

In this lesson, our Professor will introduce us to the artistic era of Ireland and its key figures, including WB Yeats, Lady Gregory, JM Synge, James Joyce and many more.

Fear no more! Join fellow Lifelong Learner, Lucie LeBlanc, for a fun discussion of how to remodel or simply fix your forgotten treasures, using products and tools you already have at home. Using paperclips to create new clasps and findings? Getting your silver bright again with only toothpaste? Through pictures and live demonstrations and, with a little practice, you’ll be amazed at how easy it is to learn these simple tricks.

Ever peruse the aisles of the SAQ looking to try something new but end up buying the same wine you always buy? Have you ever wished you could express your wine tastes better to help you choose? At this activity, we will watch a series of video lectures to learn how to trust and communicate our own taste and aroma preferences. Our professor will guide us through the technical jargon of wineselection to get us on the path to sounding like expert sommeliers.

We can’t venture out to the Ile d’Orleans this year for a proper wine tasting but perhaps a virtual course will help us prep for future excursions.
