As newcomers, an important part of our integration is the sense of belonging, and understanding the local traditions, which is why we plan activities like this, to help you better understand and embrace your new environment. With the collaboration of Pétanque – Parc St Paul-Apôtre, we hope you enjoy this new sport!

We will be returning on the 8:00 PM ferry (to Quebec). We will bring board games to facilitate your interaction with others. At the quai, there are 160 water jets, perfect to refresh you, so make sure you bring or wear your sandals or why not your swimsuit! If you are an avid photographer, you can also check out the Red stairs (193 steps) located two blocks away from the quai, and admire the beauty of the view from atop. There is also a café near the quai, not far from the ice cream shop. Feeling like picknicking? By all means, bring your own snacks and a picnic blanket or portable chairs!
The fees for the ferry ride are covered for participants and the event is open to all English-speaking newcomers living in the Greater Quebec City region. Registration is required and we have a limited number of places. Note: A newcomer is someone who moved to the Greater Québec City region in the past 5 years.

The Morrin Centre’s performance spaces are accessible by elevator and there are ramps between the rooms for people with mobility issues. There is also a ramp on rue Saint-Anne to get into the Centre itself, though it needs to be unlocked by a staff member. There is a wheelchair on-site if necessary.
*** IT’S BACK! ***
Ladies and gentlemen, this may be your chance to find your Fiona or your Shrek! We have been invited to their humble abode, ahem, a peat bog in Beaumont. VEQ will provide the transportation to the Grande Plée Bleue for FREE. Once there, we will take an interpretive tour (2.5 hours) guided by experts in the field. The trail is 3,4 kilometers on flat terrain so families can bring a trail stroller.

In this improvisation series, presented by stage actor and director Michael Bourguignon, you will learn the A-to-Z of performance, how to think on (and off) your feet, and how to support your fellow performers by developing teamwork and trust. Through a variety of warm-up exercises, games, and off-the-cuff scenarios, you will experience the fun (and funny!) world of improvisation in a safe and supportive environment. Bring your smile and sense of spontaneous adventure! No ifs or buts …
Michael Bourguignon is a stage actor and director known for his quick wit and his penchant for pratfalls and other forms of physical comedy. Currently vice-president of the Quebec Art Company, Quebec City’s foremost English-language theatre group, Michael discovered his passion for the stage late in life, but he hit the boards running and hasn’t looked back. Like his lifelong mentor, Bugs Bunny, Michael is a versatile character actor who dabbles in musicals and overdresses for almost every occasion. When not onstage, he is a teacher, communications consultant, voiceover artist, sometime stand-up comedian, and proud father. In all these roles, he always asks himself, “What would Bugs Bunny do?”
