Valcartier celebrating 200 years since The Settlement began!

From October 7 to 9, we will be celebrating Settlement Days at the Saint-Gabriel-de-Valcartier Community Center. Activities are planned for all ages.

Some highlights include: Friday – an afternoon of traditional music and learning to dance the Valcartier Set. James Allan calls a dance in the evening.

Saturday – the unveiling of our top-secret project, videos of old photos, activities for children (quilting, baking, spinning), family concert with Daniel Roy and a round table investigation into a house called Riverside. On Saturday evening there will be a tribute to the Country Show. Singers from past shows singing some of the favorites. Wear your dancing boots!

Sunday – bus tours of the village, antique cars, mini-farm and pony rides, public market and photo ops with the Honorable John Neilson and, if rumors are correct, Lt. Col. Alexander Wolff, who settled in Valcartier in 1824.

Come in costume! Prizes will be awarded. For full program details, visit www.valcartier1816.com.
