Quebec City Kilt Skate

The first annual Quebec City Kilt Skate will be held at the Anneau Rink on the historic Plains of Abraham February 18, 2023 at 5.30pm. The skate is part of The Great Canadian Kilt Skate coordinated by the Scottish Society of Ottawa from coast to coast and features 14 Canadian and two American cities. The Great Canadian Kilt Skate celebrates the longstanding cultural relationship between Scottish and Canadien/Quebecois dating back to eighteenth century and beyond. The Auld Alliance! The Kilt Skate is held in association with the Morrin Cultural Centre with musical support by members of the 78^th Fraser Highlanders. We will honour the flags of Canada, Scotland and Quebec with bagpipes and a ceremonial loop of the oval rink. Following the Kilt Skate participants and other music lovers are invited back to the Galway Pub. 1112 Cartier where the Fraser Highlanders and other performers will sing, play Celtic music with the bagpipers from 7.00 to 8.15pm.
