If you are caring for an aging loved one either near or far away, the Café offers an oasis where you can share experiences with other English-speaking caregivers. Join us for a community videoconference session focused on the pillars of a healthy brain from the perspectives of attitude, activity and lifestyle. Dr. Tiffany Chow, Medical Director at the University of Southern California Alzheimer’s Therapeutic Research Institute will introduce strategies to maximize your cognitive reserve and motivate your participation in new activities.

For people interested in learning more about this topic, there will be an interactive, intergenerational, online, self-study course being launched this fall with the Cummings Centre. Stay tuned for details.

Hugo Lanoux, Counsellor with the Société d’Alzheimer de Québec, will be joining us for this session to provide information about local services that support those with memory loss and those caring for them.

Details:  Tuesday, September 18 in the Jeffery Hale board room starting at 10 AM. This event is free and so is parking in the Jeffery Hale hospital parking lot. Registration is necessary. Please contact Jan Anderson, Community Organizer to reserve your seat: 418 684-5333 ext 1539 / janderson@jhpartners.net

If you are reluctant to attend because you cannot leave your loved one alone, please call us so we can find a way to assist you.
