Call for exceptional mobilization – Saint Brigid’s Home needs your help!

The COVID-19 pandemic, combined with workforce shortage, has reached a critical threshold in our region. With the considerable increase in the number of cases among our users and staff members, the next few weeks will be critical, particularly in terms of manpower, in order to support our various settings.
While a situation unseen in recent months is occurring, the priority remains to ensure the continuity of care and services. To meet this collective challenge, CIUSSS de la Capitale-Nationale is calling for the exceptional mobilization of its employees and the community. In the face of a health emergency, come and support healthcare teams and offer them some much-deserved help and respite.

Current employees who volunteer may be reassigned for a period of time to be determined, depending on the needs and the possibility of being released from their current duties.

For possible assignments, please see the list below:

Clinical Service Aides
General duties: support to the orderlies (tidying, cleaning, disinfecting, etc.). A short training session will be offered.
Schedule: Day/evening/night, 1 weekend out of 2.

Personal Care Attendants
General duties: support to the clinical teams (hygiene, well-being and supervision of clients, comfort, general needs and activities). Assist with movements, transfers and occasionally transportation around (Garden) and outside the facility.

Schedule: Day/evening/night, 1 weekend out of 2.

Auxiliary Nurses
General duties: assisting in evaluating the client’s state of health and in carrying out the care plan, providing nursing and wellness care, nursing and medical treatments, with the goal of maintaining and restoring health and preventing illness. Must hold a Diploma of Vocational Studies (DVS) in health, assistance and nursing from a school recognized by the appropriate ministry. Must be a member of the Ordre des infirmières et infirmiers auxiliaires du Québec.
Schedule: Day/evening/night, 1 weekend out of 2. 

Registered Nurses
General duties: assessing health level, determining and ensuring the implementation of therapeutic nursing plan, nursing care and treatment plan for clients with complex health problems or with various bio-psycho-social issues. Initiating and providing nursing and medical care and treatment in order to maintain and restore health and prevent illness. Prescribing laboratory tests, treatments, supplies, medications and dressings in the areas of wound care, public health and general care according to the regulations in effect. Designing, implementing and evaluating care programs requiring advanced knowledge, as well as coordinating teamwork and playing an advisory role within the care team and the interdisciplinary team. Must have a Bachelor’s degree in nursing or one with three (3) eligible qualifications, including at least two (2) recognized certificates in the nursing field and be a member of the Ordre des infirmières et infirmiers du Québec.
Schedule: Day/evening/night, 1 weekend out of 2.

DST-DL Service Aides
General duties: support to housekeepers (cleaning and disinfecting). A short training will be offered.
Schedule: Day/evening/night, 1 weekend out of 2.

Housekeeping Attendants
Training will be provided.
Schedule: Day or evening, 1 weekend out of 2.

Food Service Attendants
Training will be provided.
Schedule: Day or evening, 1 weekend out of 2.
