Patient care attendant
Person who is responsible for the hygiene, well-being and supervision of clients. He/she sees to the comfort, general needs and the activities of clients, in a safe environment. He/she assists them as they move about, handles their transportation and may accompany them outside the establishment.
He/she provides clients with basic care and provides the care team with information on the state of health and behaviour of clients.
He/she may install some types of equipment for which he/she is trained. He/she ensures the availability, maintenance and proper functioning of equipment and materials. He/she is responsible for the transportation of equipment, samples and files.
* Candidates will have the opportunity to work with the English-speaking community for the type of geriatric clientele served at the Jeffery Hale CHSLD or Saint Brigid’s Home CHSLD. A certain level of English is required, depending on the setting. An English test will be required.
