The Canada Games are the country’s largest multi-sport competition and will bring together more than 3,500 high-calibre athletes and coaches in Québec City from February 27 to March 14, 2027, across 22 sports. Held every two years, alternating between summer and winter, the Games celebrate the perseverance and sportsmanship of young Canadian athletes.

Your Role
Ready to make history?
As the Coordinator, Event Operations, you will play a key role in the organization of a national-scale sporting event. Reporting to the Director, Athlete Services, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing all food services while ensuring alignment with allocated resources.
Your talent and energy will enable you to:
- Participate in the planning and logistics of food services for Games participants by identifying meal, snack, and hydration needs for each distinct group across various venues;
- Coordinate food service logistics for special events held by other departments before and during the Games;
- Actively contribute to the development and coordination of food-related partnerships;
- Collaborate with suppliers to provide diverse food options adapted to nutritional needs;
- Monitor food service-related expenses and contribute to budgeting optimization efforts;
- Oversee the implementation of hygiene, sanitation, and food safety protocols in compliance with applicable standards;
- Coordinate deliveries, distribution, and installation of required equipment while respecting established sustainability objectives;
- Draft policies and procedures that will guide service delivery during the Games;
- Organize and lead food services committee meetings;
- Recruit, trains, and supervise a volunteer team dedicated to food services, while fostering a positive work environment and ensuring efficient operations;
- Collaborate with various departments to ensure consistency and coordination of operations across all venues;
- Demonstrate responsiveness and sound judgment in managing unforeseen situations within a dynamic and constantly evolving environment.
Keys to success
Want to join our team? Here’s what it takes:
- College or technical diploma in food service management, dietetics and nutrition, event management, logistics, administrationor a related field. A university degree is considered an asset;
- 3 years of experience coordinating food services, ideally in an event or multi-site context;
- Solid understanding of nutritional guidelines, particularly related to the needs of high-performance athletes;
- Fluent in French (written and spoken); working knowledge of English;
- Good knowledge of food hygiene and safety standards;
- Ministère de l’Agriculture, des Pêcheries et de l’Alimentation(MAPAQ) food safety certification: an asset;
- Experience managing volunteers, an asset;
- Strong written and spoken French and English
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license;
- Criminal background check required;
- Authorization to work in Canada.
