Immediate supervisor : Personnel Management Consultant

Nature of the work

The principal and customary work of an employee in this class of employment consists in performing various technical tasks related to the management of human and financial resources, development and implementation of standards and activities related to administrative operations. As part of his or her duties, the employee may assist professionals and senior staff.

Characteristic functions

An employee in this class of employment assists the personnel management consultant in the management of the payroll records, PERCOS and IPOS (declaration of School Board Personnel) and Retraite Quebec (annual declaration).

  • He or she works at updating payroll data, notably for parental leave files, performs test calculations and verifies the work done by other payroll team members.
  • He or she also verifies different control lists, prepares reports and sees to the correct application of the collective agreements.
  • He or she assists the Human Resources service with various dossiers and reports.
  • He or she responds to requests for information and clarification from principals and staff members.
  • If need be, he or she performs any other related duty.

General Skills

  • Hold a Diploma of College Studies in business administration with an option appropriate for the class of employment or a diploma or an attestation of studies recognized as equivalent by the competent authority.
  • Excellent spoken and written English and French.
  • Excellent knowledge of Excel
  • Sound knowledge of Office suite.
  • Knowledge of public sector retirement plans would be an asset
  • Capacity to work and cope with simultaneous demands and works cooperatively with team and other staff members.
  • Capacity to learn and adapt to new situations.
  • Excellent judgment, analytical skills and problem solving ability.
  • The ability to prioritize, organize, plan, carry out and follow-up in an autonomous fashion.
  • Good memorization capacity and very attentive to details.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Discretion and objectivity.
  • Must be available and flexible in regards to the working hours
