The skate is part of The Great Canadian Kilt Skate coordinated by the Scottish Society of Ottawa from coast to coast and features 14 Canadian and two American cities. Here are some fun highlights from previous years and participating communities:<\/div>\n<div><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=BF0w7m28e_Y\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-auth=\"NotApplicable\" data-safelink=\"true\" data-linkindex=\"4\">https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=BF0w7m28e_Y<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Great Canadian Kilt Skate celebrates the longstanding cultural relationship between Scottish and Canadien\/Quebecois dating back to eighteenth century and beyond. The Auld Alliance! The Kilt Skate is held in association with the Morrin Cultural Centre with musical support by members of the 78<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0Fraser Highlanders.
