Help end the silence around mental health!<\/p>\n<p>Jack Talks are mental health presentations delivered\u00a0<strong>by young people to young people<\/strong>. Trained and certified youth speakers use the power of personal stories and mental health education to inspire, engage, educate and equip young people to look out for themselves and their peers.<\/p>\n<p>Fun fact: 80% of Jack Talks audiences say they walk away with a better understanding of their mental well-being. Now, that\u2019s a win-win!<\/p>\n<p>On the agenda? Topics like bullying, dealing with depression, self-esteem, 2SLGBTQ, and more, from academic stress to immigrant experiences. We\u2019ve got it all covered!<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/zoom.us\/meeting\/register\/tJ0scu2upj8vGdJMUYcApJfiYtBV3RJROCJY\">Register for your Zoom link.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Parents are welcome to join too.<\/p>\n<p><strong>About the speakers<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Mary Feltham:\u00a0<\/strong>Mary is a graduate from Grenfell Camps, obtaining a BSc in Psychology and BSc in Nursing.\u00a0 Now Mary lives with their many animals, and works as the chairperson for the Canadian Federation of Students \u2013 Newfoundland and Labrador, advocating for the rights of all students.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Mara So:<\/strong>\u00a0By day, Mara is a Lab Manager for a cognitive psychology lab at Dalhousie University.\u00a0 She graduated from Dalhousie in 2020 with a BSc (Hons) in Neuroscience and a Certificate in Animal Behaviour.\u00a0 By night, she crafts,cosplays, and takes care of her 2 year-old Golden Retriever named Rocco.\u00a0 In addition to volunteering as a Jack Talks speaker for Jack.org, she also volunteers as an EAL tutor for ISANS, and as a Crisis Responder for Kids Help Phone.<\/p>\n<p><strong>About Jack.org<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/jack.org\/Home\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jack.org<\/a>\u00a0is a charity that trains and empowers youth to have a positive impact on mental health in their communities. They are working towards a Canada where all young people understand how to take care fo their own mental health and look out for each other. A Canada without shame, and where all those that need support, get the help they deserve.
