This hands-on position combines cleaning, minor maintenance, room setup, seasonal outdoor work, site monitoring and practical support for activities and events. The objective is to keep the site clean, safe, functional and welcoming.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Main Responsibilities<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span><strong>1. Cleaning and General Upkeep<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Clean common areas, offices, meeting rooms, washrooms and other designated spaces, including floors, accessible surfaces, doors, windows and furniture.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Clean and restock washrooms and maintain required supplies.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Empty garbage, recycling and food-scrap containers and prepare materials for collection.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Complete periodic deep-cleaning tasks according to operational priorities.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span><strong>2. Minor Maintenance<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Carry out small, authorized repairs such as replacing light bulbs, touch-up painting, adjusting handles or simple hardware, and similar basic maintenance.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Check furniture, doors, fixtures and equipment for normal wear or minor defects and complete approved corrective work.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Maintain basic tools and equipment in good working order.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span><strong>3. Room and Event Setup<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Prepare rooms and other spaces for meetings, rentals, community activities, concerts, receptions and special events.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Set up and move tables, chairs, signage and simple equipment according to approved layouts.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>After activities, dismantle setups, store materials and return spaces to their standard configuration.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span><strong>4. Grounds and Seasonal Work<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Keep entrances, pathways and outdoor areas clean and orderly by removing litter, branches and other debris.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Water gardens and perform basic weeding, lawn care and other approved landscaping tasks.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Carry out seasonal work such as leaf removal in autumn and applying sand or ice-melt products at entrances in winter.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span><strong>5. Site Monitoring and Safety<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Perform routine rounds of the buildings and grounds and watch for damage, water infiltration, unsafe conditions, blocked exits or other irregularities.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Open or close designated buildings or spaces when assigned and help ensure doors, access points, stairs and public areas are secure.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Report incidents, hazards and maintenance issues promptly and take reasonable first-line measures to make an area safe when possible.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Respond to occasional emergency calls or attend the site outside regular hours when required.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Technical limits: <\/strong>The role does not include work on electrical panels, plumbing, heating, sprinkler, alarm or other specialized building systems unless a specific task has been authorized and the employee has the required training.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span><strong>6. Operational Support<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Organize cleaning supplies, tools and storage areas and advise the Operations Manager when supplies need replenishment.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Receive or move occasional deliveries and materials and provide practical logistical support to staff, volunteers, suppliers and activity coordinators.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Oversee the inspection and maintenance of all church properties within the Diocese of Quebec, ensuring they remain safe and well maintained. (Sillery and Valcartier)\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Perform other related duties consistent with the nature of the position.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Qualifications and Personal Attributes<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Reliable, resourceful, organized and able to work independently while adapting to changing priorities.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Comfortable with hands-on work, routine cleaning and simple repairs.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Good judgement, including recognizing when a task requires a qualified professional.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Able to work cooperatively and respectfully in a public, multi-use environment.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Committed to workplace health and safety and the proper use of tools, equipment and cleaning products.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Previous custodial or building-maintenance experience is an asset; a building-maintenance trade diploma and current first-aid certification are also assets.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Requires a valid, unrestricted driver\u2019s licence.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Physical Requirements<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Ability to stand and walk for significant portions of the workday and use stairs regularly.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Ability to move tables, chairs, supplies and equipment and to lift and carry approximately 30 lb or more when safe to do so; team lifting is expected for heavier or awkward items.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Ability to perform indoor and outdoor work in varying seasonal conditions.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Be available on rare occasions to respond to emergency calls and perform urgent repairs.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Compensation and benefits<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The hourly wage ranges from $25 to $30, depending on experience. A higher rate may be offered to candidates with recognized qualifications or a relevant diploma.
