Are you interested in existential questions?<\/p>\n<p>Welcome to the first event of our new series \u2014 Exchanges with an Expert. Inspired by the concept of living libraries around the world, these events allow inquisitive members of the public to connect with experts for a casual 10- to 15-minute conversation in a virtual setting.<\/p>\n<p>This month, we welcome Dr. Don Landes, a philosophy professor at Universit\u00e9 Laval. He will be online from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, February 20.<\/p>\n<p>Whether you\u2019ve always had burning questions about philosophy, or are merely intrigued by the daily routine of a philosophy professor, book your conversation with Prof. Landes right away!<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cDon Landes has been a philosophy professor at Universit\u00e9 Laval since 2015. He specializes in twentieth-century European philosophy, and particularly in the work of French philosophers Henri Bergson and Maurice Merleau-Ponty. His interests also include Existentialism, feminist philosophy, and ethics. His publications include an award-winning book (<\/em>Merleau-Ponty and the Paradoxes of Expression<em>, 2013) and many articles on topics such as expression, embodiment, habit, and intersubjectivity. Don is also well known for his translation into English of Merleau-Ponty\u2019s most important book,\u00a0<\/em>Phenomenology of Perception<em>, 1945 [2012].
