This is a unique and enriching experience where you’ll step back in time and discover the history of this land\, going back hundreds of years\, and learn how the Wendat people continue to preserve their traditions\, culture\, and way of life today. \nDuring this guided tour\, you’ll explore meaningful sites and discover fascinating traditional practices that are still important today. You’ll visit the Long House\, the traditional Wendat dwelling\, and learn about daily life\, social organization\, and customs of the Wendat Nation. You’ll also see the smokehouse and fish and meat dryer\, where traditional food preservation methods and survival skills will be explained. \nThe visit continues with the sweat lodge\, where you’ll learn about traditional purification practices used for spiritual and physical well-being. We’ll also stop at the giant teepee\, where you’ll get a glimpse of the diversity and richness of Indigenous Nations. \nYou’ll also discover traditional transportation methods\, including how canoes and snowshoes are made and used—essential tools for life in different seasons and landscapes. Either way\, this workshop is for you! \nJoin us for a free 1-hour session at the RTC (Réseau de transport de la Capitale) office\, where you’ll receive a complete introduction to using public transit in Québec City. The session will cover: \n\n\nHow to read bus schedules and plan your trips \n\n\nWhere and how to buy tickets or monthly passes \n\n\nTips for saving money with special fares and offers \n\n\nA hands-on practice session using simulators to help you feel confident before riding \n\n\nAn overview of digital tools and resources that make public transit easier to use \n\n\n \nAfter the session\, we’ll take a bus together to explore the Saint-Jean-Baptiste area and enjoy lunch (not covered by VEQ). We will also provide transportation by bus from our office (1270 chemin Ste-Foy). \nOpen to all! \nWe have only 40 spots available\, so be sure to reserve yours as soon as possible. \nTO BOOK YOUR TICKET \nA sugar shack (cabane à sucre in French) is a traditional maple syrup-producing cabin found in Québec and other parts of eastern Canada. It is a place where people gather in late winter or early spring to enjoy a traditional meal and taste fresh maple syrup. Originally\, sugar shacks were built near maple tree groves where maple sap was collected and boiled to produce maple syrup. DESCRIPTION:Have you noticed that locals love being outdoors—even in winter?! \nHave you been wanting to try snowshoeing but don’t own a pair? \nVEQ\, in partnership with Accès-Loisirs\, is once again offering you the opportunity to try a popular winter activity: snowshoeing! \n\nWe have a limited number of snowshoes available (15 adult pairs and 10 children’s pairs)\, so reserving your spot is essential. \n***This visit is not guided.***\n  \nSince we only have a limited number of snowshoes\, REGISTRATION IS A MUST!\n\n  \nWe will follow the walking trails on the Plains of Abraham (shown in the picture below\, with the fucsia arrow). Please observe the signage for a better experience for everyone! \n \n  \nPlease remember to follow safety guidelines when going for a hike\, like wearing appropriate clothing and shoes\, or notifying someone which trail you will explore.
