DESCRIPTION:  \n \nSome of the most meaningful creative work begins around a table. \nFrom my home in Montcalm\, I offer small\, welcoming gatherings built around art\, writing\, curiosity\, and conversation. These are not formal classes where everyone is expected to produce the same thing. They are spaces to experiment\, exchange ideas\, tell stories\, and rediscover the pleasure of making something with your own hands. \nNo previous artistic or writing experience is required. You only need curiosity and a willingness to begin. \nSoirées de création\nJournal créatif mixte / Mixed-Media Journaling\nA six-week bilingual creative series\nOver six evenings\, we will explore mixed-media journaling through colour\, collage\, drawing\, photographs\, words\, paint\, and collected materials. \nEach gathering will begin with a prompt or creative doorway\, but everyone’s journal will develop differently. The purpose is not to create perfect pages. It is to experiment\, follow your curiosity\, and develop a personal creative practice in a relaxed and encouraging setting. \nThe gatherings will be bilingual\, with French taking the lead. DESCRIPTION:Fall Seminar: Nietzsche\, On the Genealogy of Morals\nWeek 3: Guilt and Bad Conscience\n\n\n\n\nFollowing the success of his The Odyssey seminar last year\, Greg Campbell is back for a four-part seminar series on Friedrich Nietzsche’s essay collection On the Genealogy of Morals. \n \n\n\n\n\nParticipants will read through the full work and explore its themes through open discussion. To help make the seminar a convivial and ongoing conversation\, participants are expected to attend all four sessions. \nThis activity is open to all Morrin Centre members regardless of experience with seminars or philosophy. \nTo learn more and register\, please see this page. \n  \nWeek 3 Themes\nPromising and forgetting; causality and responsibility; memory => reason; guilt and punishment; power\, pleasure and shame; suffering and indignation; debt => cunning; measurement/calculation; mercy; will to power; bad consciousness; the taming of man; inwardization of drives; pleasure in self-sacrifice; ancestral debt => god; desire for nothingness; twilight of the idols and the hammer of the gods. \n  \nThe Facilitator\nGreg Campbell trained as a pharmacist before returning to college to study philosophy and history of ideas. Having completed a Masters degree at Essex University in the UK and obtained his doctorate in philosophy from University College Dublin in Ireland\, he undertook a post-doctorate at Columbia University\, New York (aesthetics and politics in Adorno). During his studies\, Greg continued to work part-time as a pharmacist. In addition to teaching a humanities course at Wilbur Smith College\, Greg was also a stay-at-home dad for a while after moving to Chicago in 2014. Since moving to Quebec City in 2020\, Greg has continued to work in the education sector.

You only need curiosity and a willingness to begin. \nSoirées de création\nJournal créatif mixte / Mixed-Media Journaling\nA six-week bilingual creative series\nOver six evenings\, we will explore mixed-media journaling through colour\, collage\, drawing\, photographs\, words\, paint\, and collected materials. \nEach gathering will begin with a prompt or creative doorway\, but everyone’s journal will develop differently. The purpose is not to create perfect pages. It is to experiment\, follow your curiosity\, and develop a personal creative practice in a relaxed and encouraging setting. \nThe gatherings will be bilingual\, with French taking the lead. DESCRIPTION:Fall Seminar: Nietzsche\, On the Genealogy of Morals\nWeek 2: Good and Evil/Bad\n\n\n\n\nFollowing the success of his The Odyssey seminar last year\, Greg Campbell is back for a four-part seminar series on Friedrich Nietzsche’s essay collection On the Genealogy of Morals. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nParticipants will read through the full work and explore its themes through open discussion. To help make the seminar a convivial and ongoing conversation\, participants are expected to attend all four sessions. \nThis activity is open to all Morrin Centre members regardless of experience with seminars or philosophy. \nTo learn more and register\, please see this page. \n  \nWeek 2 Themes\nMaster and slave morality; herd mentality; egoism; usefulness and forgetfulness; will to nothingness; the priestly cast; unhealthiness; fall of religion and the church; resentment and reactivity; revenge and the decline of man; the falsehood of the subject; aristocratic activity; man becomes interesting. \n  \nThe Facilitator\nGreg Campbell trained as a pharmacist before returning to college to study philosophy and history of ideas. Having completed a Masters degree at Essex University in the UK and obtained his doctorate in philosophy from University College Dublin in Ireland\, he undertook a post-doctorate at Columbia University\, New York (aesthetics and politics in Adorno). During his studies\, Greg continued to work part-time as a pharmacist. In addition to teaching a humanities course at Wilbur Smith College\, Greg was also a stay-at-home dad for a while after moving to Chicago in 2014.
