DESCRIPTION:Storytime: Nine Color Deer\n\n\n\n\nThis Saturday\, we will be reading Nine Color Dear – story originated more than a thousand years ago\, found in the famous Magao Caves\, in China. This is a gorgeous story about generosity and gratitude\, adapted from a traditional Buddhist tale by Kailin Duan. \n\n\n\n\n \nStorytime is a literacy program for children ages 3 to 7. Each activity begins with the reading of a story followed by a craft inspired by its themes. VEQ has organised a FREE self-guided visit to the Civilisation Museum\, where you will surely not lack conversation topics! \nSince it is required by the museum\, we have access to a specific number of attendees\, and registration is required. The maximum capacity is 24 people\, regardless of age. \nThe guided tour for  “This Is Our Story” exhibit is scheduled at 10:00 a.m. Please note that for this exhibit we must respect the time allotted to our group. All activities are free. \nThe Charango and Andean Music\n \nIn Peru\, there’s a strong tradition related to the musical instrument known as the charango that goes far back in history. It’s a unique tradition making the charango\, without a doubt\, one of the most characteristic and popular musical instruments of Andean culture.\nThis concert and talk focuses on musical traditions of the Andes\, notably\, on the charango\, a string instrument most likely originally created according to and inspired by the 17th century Spanish baroque guitar. Federico Tarazona has created his own version of the instrument\, named hatun charango (grand charango)\, a new variant in the instrument family offering more possibilities than the traditional charango when it comes to harmonies and polyphony. \nRenowned for his exciting interpretation\, extraordinary technique and musical expression\, Federico Tarazona is considered one of the world’s finest Andean charango virtuosos\, and one of the most important South-American composers of his generation. \nClick here for the full programming \n  \nThis project is made possible thanks to the support of the Government of Canada and Québecor.

It is thus important that you reserve your spot!\n  \n***This visit is not guided.***\n  \nSince we only have a limited number of snowshoes\, REGISTRATION IS A MUST! Participants must register using the designated method (Eventbrite).\nNo registration will be taken over the phone nor by email. \n  \nWe will follow the walking trails on the Plains of Abraham (shown in the picture below\, with the fucsia arrow).
