SUMMARY:L'Art de raconter with The Leeça Space
DESCRIPTION:Some of the most meaningful creative work begins around a table. \nFrom my home in Montcalm\, I offer small\, welcoming gatherings built around art\, writing\, curiosity\, and conversation. These are not formal classes where everyone is expected to produce the same thing. They are spaces to experiment\, exchange ideas\, tell stories\, and rediscover the pleasure of making something with your own hands. \nNo previous artistic or writing experience is required. You only need curiosity and a willingness to begin. \nRegister Here

SUMMARY:Essentrics®
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a NEW addition to our ‘Move for Mental Health’ activities: Essentrics®! \n  \nEssentrics is a dynamic full-body workout that combines stretching and strengthening to build lean\, flexible muscles.  The workout focuses on eccentric contraction—stretching a muscle while it is engaged. \n  \nCreated by former ballerina Miranda Esmonde-White in Montreal\, Canada\, it treats the body as one connected system. \n  \nBelow are the key details about how it works: \n  \nThe Science \n\nEccentric Contraction: Traditional exercises (like lifting weights) shorten muscles. Essentrics stretches the muscle while under tension.  This mimics the body’s natural braking system.\nRehydrates Fascia: Fascia is the connective tissue that wraps around muscles.  Lack of movement causes fascia layers to stick together. Essentrics’ fluid\, slow movements lubricate these tissues\, making you feel less stiff.\nFull-Body Movement: Instead of isolating muscles (like only working your biceps)\, it uses the whole body. This prevents joint damage and protects against injury.\n\nTop Health Benefits \n\nRelieves Pain: Many people use it to reduce chronic back and joint pain.\nImproves Posture & Shape: It naturally elongates the body\, resulting in a toned\, slender physique without bulky muscles.\nIncreases Mobility: It restores full movement to stiff joints.\n\nHow to Practice \n\nEquipment-Free: It uses your own body weight and gravity to create resistance.\nNo Impact: There is no jumping\, kneeling\, or heavy lifting.\nFor Everyone: It is designed for all ages and fitness levels.\n\nClasses are led by Joëlle Turcotte\, a certified Essentrics instructor since 2019.  With extensive training and nearly four decades of professional experience\, well-being\, self-awareness\, and body awareness are the core principles that motivate Joëlle’s guiding of participants of all ages and skill levels. \n  \nYou’ll need to bring with you: \n\na yoga-type mat\na bottle of water\nwear comfortable clothes\n\nSpace is limited to a maximum of 12 participants. \n  \nRegister here! \n  \n$60.00 for all eight classes. Note that refunds will not be issued for missed classes\, unless the class is cancelled by us. \n  \nQuestions? \nFor more information about Essentrics®\, please contact Verity\, We Mind Mental Health Program Coordinator: 581-705-2149\, or vjordan@jhpartners.net.

We’re looking for 4 or 5 guys to put up and decorate 6 Christmas trees in the garden at Saint Brigid’s\, a long-term care facility for seniors.  This gesture will go a long way to making Christmas festive for everyone who lives and works there. \nDon’t miss this chance to get together with other men and share some laughs\, while also giving back to the community. Together\, we will: \n\nBuild bases for each tree\nSet up the trees at Saint Brigid’s Home\nSecure them to ground\nAnd light ’em up!\n\nTo sign up or for any questions \nLet us know that you’ll be there by contacting Jarryd Smith\, by email at jsmith@jhpartners.net or by phone at 418-570-7953 before Friday\, October 31\, 2026.  We will confirm all the final details with you by email before the event.
