This is a unique and enriching experience where you’ll step back in time and discover the history of this land\, going back hundreds of years\, and learn how the Wendat people continue to preserve their traditions\, culture\, and way of life today. \nDuring this guided tour\, you’ll explore meaningful sites and discover fascinating traditional practices that are still important today. You’ll visit the Long House\, the traditional Wendat dwelling\, and learn about daily life\, social organization\, and customs of the Wendat Nation. You’ll also see the smokehouse and fish and meat dryer\, where traditional food preservation methods and survival skills will be explained. \nThe visit continues with the sweat lodge\, where you’ll learn about traditional purification practices used for spiritual and physical well-being. We’ll also stop at the giant teepee\, where you’ll get a glimpse of the diversity and richness of Indigenous Nations. \nYou’ll also discover traditional transportation methods\, including how canoes and snowshoes are made and used—essential tools for life in different seasons and landscapes.
