He will be online from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday\, February 20. \nWhether you’ve always had burning questions about philosophy\, or are merely intrigued by the daily routine of a philosophy professor\, book your conversation with Prof. Landes right away! \n“Don Landes has been a philosophy professor at Université Laval since 2015. From short films for teenagers to a documentary about Montreal’s underground art scene\, everyone can find something to appreciate and enjoy in this project. \nDuring this event\, discover Montreal’s underground art scene through the 2019 documentary Sisters: Dream & Variations (16+). \nTyr and Jasa grew up in an artistic household where art was a way of life. Quirky and insightful sisters from Montreal\, Tyr is a musician and singer while Jasa is an interdisciplinary artist. Inspired by their great-grandmother’s recordings of Icelandic folk songs\, they have developed artistic practices that draw on their colourful imaginations and Icelandic roots. Their exploration leads them to journey to Iceland for the first time and collaborate on a project that brings together their artistic disciplines and cultural heritage. \nIn her debut feature film Sisters: Dream & Variations\, editor and filmmaker Catherine Legault immerses us in an oniric world made up of animation\, performances and cinema vérité. More than a portrait\, the film is an inspiring look at the artistic approach\, its various forms and how it can simultaneously express and explore who we are. \nUpon registration\, viewers will be emailed a link to the film. DESCRIPTION:In this year of COVID-19\, the Grinch has been hard at work keeping us from planning our annual EPIQ HOHOHO Here We Go Again Children’s Christmas Party. Never fear\, the community Wellness Centre still has something fun in store for our little ones! \nA team of jolly volunteers from our EPIQ (English-speaking Parents in Quebec City) group is offering local English-speaking families the chance to receive a customized video sent to your child(ren) from Santa\, Mrs. Claus or a helpful elf. The video would be personalized to your family for a small fee (see payment details below). All of the profits will go towards the 25th annual Community Christmas Hamper Campaign. \nBe sure to register before the December 10th deadline. We’re aiming to have your personalized video link(s) in your mailbox by December 17th. Your child(ren) can watch the video over and over again on a smart phone\, tablet\, or computer screen. \nThe best news of all is that 100% of proceeds from this project will help make this Christmas brighter for local families who are struggling financially this season.
