SUMMARY:In These Spaces - History of Surgery
DESCRIPTION:Where does modern surgery as we know it come from? The answer lies in history. The history of modern surgery revolves around three themes: first\, the changes in the understanding of the body and its diseases; second\, the development of surgical techniques\, such as hemostatic forceps\, anesthesia\, or antisepsis; and third\, the changing professional status of surgical practitioners from craftsmen to scientifically trained and specialized doctors. \nLearn more during this conference broadcasted from our chemistry laboratory with Dr. Thomas Schlich and host Peter Black.\nMore information here: https://www.morrin.org/en/event/in-these-spaces-history-of-surgery/

SUMMARY:Online Kahoot: French expressions
DESCRIPTION:  \nWhen learning a new language\, it is inevitable to sometimes get lost in translation. My beginnings in French were quite hilarious and often embarrassing\, but at least it made me giggle. I remember that at first\, I used to think that the “hôtel de ville” was a hotel chain\, like Marriott\, Hilton\, Barceló\, etc. Now learning idioms and expressions is even trickier! Sometimes\, the best way of learning their meaning is by simply using them\, which is why VEQ in collaboration with Canadian Parents for French is organising this fun game night. \nAt the end of the game\, the winner of the game will get a $40 gift card (from Chocolats Favoris). Another gift card will be raffled among all participants. \nTo register for this fun activity\, please click here. \n
