SUMMARY:QAC presents: The School for Scandal (Tickets on sale now!)
DESCRIPTION:Tickets now on sale for QAC’s The School for Scandal \nTickets can now be reserved for Quebec Art Company’s devilish farce\, The School for Scandal\, which premières on the stage of Holland Elementary School on Thursday\, May 19. There will be three other performances of the comedy of manners\, on Friday\, May 20; Saturday\, May 21; and a matinee on Sunday\, May 22. \nSeating is reserved and tickets are $20. Head on to www.quebecartcompany.com to buy your tickets! While on the website\, don’t forget to check out QAC’s previous productions\, dating back 40 years. \nThe poster for the play comes from an oil painting by noted local artist Miriam “Minum” Blair.\nThe School for Scandal\, by R.B. Sheridan\, was first performed in May 1777. A review of a 1995 production starring Tony Randall called the play “a superbly crafted laugh machine\, and so timeless in delivering delectable comeuppance to a viper’s nest of idle-rich gossipmongers\, that you’d practically have to club it to death to stifle its amazing pleasures.” \nThe QAC version\, adapted by director Mark Lepitre and featuring a spirited cast\, promises the same pleasures.

SUMMARY:Practice your Interviewing skills
DESCRIPTION:A successful job search often comes down to the interview moment\, where one gets to impress the potential employer. With the upcoming regional job fair on the horizon (on May 6 & 7)\, we in partnership with the FORT program would like to help you prepare for this very important step in your job search. \nThe moment of truth has come. No need to panic! We are collaborating with the FORT program to offer you the possibility of practicing your French interviewing skills. At the end of it\, you will be better equipped in terms of what kind of questions you can expect when interviewing in French\, and how to prepare your selling points in the aforementioned language. Now\, if your interviews are most likely to be carried out in English\, then by all means you can practice in English! \nThis activity is 100% free and open to all! \nTo register please click here. \n

SUMMARY:In These Spaces - History of Capital Punishment in Quebec
DESCRIPTION:In May 2019\, the Morrin Centre launched a new permanent exhibit on capital punishment in Quebec from the Conquest to 1960. Less than a year later\, the pandemic restricted public access to the exhibit and the accompanying multimedia tour\, a restriction which has essentially remained in place ever since. This presentation will provide a summary of the history of capital punishment in Quebec based largely on the exhibit’s content\, along with new material collected since its launch. \nLearn more during this conference broadcasted from our jail with Professor Donald Fyson and host Peter Black. \nMore information here: https://www.morrin.org/en/event/in-these-spaces-history-of-capital-punishment-in-quebec

SUMMARY:In These Spaces - History of Surgery
DESCRIPTION:Where does modern surgery as we know it come from? The answer lies in history. The history of modern surgery revolves around three themes: first\, the changes in the understanding of the body and its diseases; second\, the development of surgical techniques\, such as hemostatic forceps\, anesthesia\, or antisepsis; and third\, the changing professional status of surgical practitioners from craftsmen to scientifically trained and specialized doctors. \nLearn more during this conference broadcasted from our chemistry laboratory with Dr. Thomas Schlich and host Peter Black.\nMore information here: https://www.morrin.org/en/event/in-these-spaces-history-of-surgery/
