I chose Québec because…

I moved to Canada in the spring of 2017, to be with my québécois husband. At first, I must admit that I wasn't totally sold on the idea of living here; leaving my family, friends, career, and beloved country had never crossed my mind. To make things harder, I almost had a heart attack the day I realized that going to the beach was no longer an option (having grown up only 30 min, from the Pacific Ocean, a real beach for me must have salty water, palm trees, and big waves). Moving to a new country, with a whole different culture and language was exciting and challenging at the same time. It felt like a roller-coaster at times, but in the long run, it has been an amazing experience. I have grown in so many ways, I am now trilingual, I've had the chance of meeting and learning from people of different origins and cultures, have seen exuberant landscapes that before only existed in literature, the internet, or t.v., and let's not forget about maple syrup and all the goodies you can make and eat with it... :D Today, I call Québec City my home, and I hope I will continue doing so for many years more!
