Leonard Cohen died in November 2016 after a sixty year long career as a poet, novelist, painter, songwriter and singer. Known most widely for such iconic songs as Suzanne and Hallelujah, Cohen received numerous awards for his contributions to poetry and music, including The Order of Canada, the nation’s highest civilian honor and a legion of followers throughout the world. Participants will examine the events and muses that inspired his poetry and songs of spirituality, religion, sexuality and isolation and listen to some of his most popular songs.
