MAIN FUNCTIONS:

Acting as an intermediary between ships, local authorities, Charterers and Shipowners, the shipping agent must maintain a strong communication link in English between all parties concerned. They must ensure the logistics are in place surrounding the arrival and departure of ships and document all the events related to the port of call. They are also responsible for coordinating various ship services and monitoring cargo operations.

REQUIREMENTS:

Level of Studies: High School Diploma

Years of Experience in the Maritime domain: An advantage.

DESCRIPTION OF COMPETENCES:

You must be able to speak and write English to a good level. You must be able to work well with the Microsoft suite (Excel, word & Outlook). You must posses the abilities to work under pressure – Teamwork – Autonomy – Resourcefulness – Flexibility. On the Job training provided.

No. of Hrs: 35 per week whilst not on duty.

Other forms of remuneration: Car allowance
Other conditions: After the initial training you will join a rotation of duty, Competitive salary,  Group Insurance,  travel to outsides ports served by the Quebec office.

You must be in possession of a driver license and own a car.
