The Morrin Centre is seeking the right person to help coordinate its events and activities and assist with the Centre’s communications. 

Tasks –

  • Coordinate logistics for monthly events such as talks, the Parcours de peur, music events, etc.
  • Coordinate with suppliers for events and activities
  • Draft contracts with presenters and performers
  • Draft and distribute press releases to media, members and partners
  • Manage social media and the Centre’s newsletter
  • Manage volunteers – ensure adequate volunteer presence for events and activities
  • Maintain a file of all of the Centre’s media clippings, advertisements and promotional material
  • Set up equipment for events and activities (projectors, microphones, sound system, etc.)
  • Welcome visitors to the Centre at the reception desk
  • All other related tasks


The candidate selection process will be based on an evaluation of communication skills, past experience and knowledge of both official languages.

Education – At least one year of a bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations or marketing or a diploma in Event Planning or a related domain. An acceptable combination of education and work experience may also be considered.
Qualities – Creativity, enthusiasm, self-starter, proactive, strong sense of initiative,
flexibility, and genuine interest for people and the cultural sector. Strong presentation skills and attention to quality and detail are essential to this position.
Skills – The successful applicant must be fluently bilingual and have excellent written
skills in English and French. An excellent sense of organization and priority
management skills are essential. The successful applicant will be capable of working
rapidly and under pressure. High degree of autonomy with computer applications such as Microsoft Office and Publisher as well as social media applications is required.
Work Experience – 1 year of experience in events planning, public relations, promotions or related domain. Knowledge of local English-speaking community will be considered an asset.
Please note: This position may require working on a flexible schedule, including occasional night and weekend engagements.
